Straight-laced, but woefully misinformed, Spencer (30s / 40s) leads the young, reckless, Toovey (~18yo) in a perilous journey through the canals of London.... on a crusade to escape the dangers of the city - with its warring, extremist, post-truth, post-apocalyptic, factions - in favour of the assumed serenity of coastal Bristol. Along the way, by chance surprise, they meet a very non-traditional family. This encounter opens Toovey’s eyes to new perspectives on life, and family; prompting him to re-evaluate.
Given the consistent wry, ‘dramedy’ slant this premise naturally lends itself to, we’re not saying that he necessarily makes the right, intelligent, decision of course. Where would be the fun in that?
Also, London always wins in the end.
